How does Pulse work with my calendar?
First, to connect your calendar to Pulse please follow these steps:
- Open the Pulse Helper app on your desktop.
- Navigate to Settings
- Select the calendar you want to connect (Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar)
- Choose whether you want to share meeting titles or not
How does Pulse calendar status work?
By connecting your calendar, you can let your team know when you are in a meeting or other scheduled event. Pulse also uses your calendar information to indicate to teammates your windows of availability and how busy you are in the hours ahead.
Free and Busy calendar event behavior with Pulse status:
When you create a calendar event and select ‘Busy‘, your Pulse status will display ‘In a meeting’ with the 🗓️ emoji. Pulse settings allow you to share or hide your shared calendar event titles.
If you select ‘Free’, Pulse will not display your calendar event in your status.
Events that are marked as ‘Private’ will automatically hide the event title from your status, but your availability will be shown as ‘in a meeting’ with the 🗓️ emoji.
Invited calendar event behavior with Pulse status:
Accepted calendar events will display your status as ‘in a meeting’ with the 🗓️ emoji and share or not share meeting title based on your Pulse calendar settings.
If you decline, do not respond, or mark yourself as ‘tentative’ for the event, Pulse will not display this event in your status until may accept the event.
What happens if there are multiple calendar events at the same time?
Pulse always shows the most recently started event in your status. So if you have two overlapping events, it will show the one that started later. If both events start at the same time, it will pick an event at random.
